ransfer News – September 5: MU offloads Onana, Tottenham pursues Savinho
Onana Out of MU’s Plans
Andre Onana is no longer part of Manchester United’s plans after starting the 2025/26 Premier League season as backup to Altay Bayındır, while Senne Lammens has also recently joined Old Trafford.
According to UK sources, Onana himself has requested a move. MU is also considering this as part of their strategy to reduce the wage bill.
The club is currently listening to offers for Onana from Saudi Arabia and Turkey, where the summer 2025 transfer windows close on September 10 and 12, respectively.
Tottenham Eyes Savinho
Although the English transfer window has officially closed, Tottenham is still actively negotiating to sign Savinho, the young star from Manchester City.
According to UK sources, Tottenham – which is preparing to part ways with CEO Daniel Levy – is willing to offer a substantial fee to convince Manchester City, with a fixed amount of £70 million plus additional clauses worth £15–17 million.
Savinho has not yet played a single minute in the Premier League this season. With Rayan Cher now injured, the 21-year-old Brazilian will have an opportunity to get game time.
His playing time will be crucial for his chances of participating in World Cup 2026. Therefore, Tottenham is actively persuading the former Girona player to leave the Etihad and move to London in the winter, where he would have the chance to play alongside Richarlison.
