Mike Tyson may face challenges fighting Jake Paul after experiencing a medical issue on Sunday while traveling. According to the New York Post’s Ryan Glasspiegel and Matt Ehalt, Tyson’s agents confirmed that the former heavyweight champion is “doing great” after an ulcer flare-up left him feeling nauseous and lightheaded just before boarding a flight from Miami to Los Angeles.

“Thankfully, Mr. Tyson is doing great,” Tyson’s representatives said in an email. “He became nauseous and dizzy due to an ulcer flare-up 30 minutes before landing. He is appreciative to the medical staff that were there to help him.”

Following the revelation of Tyson’s medical emergency, Jake Paul made his first public remarks on Monday. Despite concerns about the bout’s status, Paul refuted any rumors of its cancellation. “You love to make s–t up before knowing the facts for clicks/likes. Nothing changed,” Paul wrote on X. The fight is scheduled to take place in Arlington, Texas, on July 20 and will be streamed live on Netflix.

Paul confidently stated his intentions for the match, “But what I promise to the people on July 20th: Mike will be put to sleep, and he will feel my power,” Paul said. “I will go down as the man who put Tyson to sleep for the last time.”

This health scare comes as Tyson, who will turn 58 next month, prepares for his highly anticipated fight against YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul at AT&T Stadium. The bout, once approved, will be recorded on both fighters’ professional records.

Despite Tyson’s storied career, questions have been raised about his ability to physically return to the ring. At a recent press conference for the fight, Tyson candidly admitted that his body hurts “like s— right now.” Meanwhile, Ryan Garcia, facing a potential suspension after a positive test for a performance-enhancing drug before his April 20 bout with Devin Haney, suggested he could step in if Tyson is unable to fight Paul.
