Freshfields Animal Rescue, based in Liverpool, is appealing for help as one of their kennels has started to leak. This makes it difficult to give all dogs in their care a warm, cosy and dry place to rest while waiting for their forever home.
“The pitch of the current roof is insufficient, water sits on the polycarbonate sheets and wells up, bending them,” says Debbie Hughes, from Freshfields Animal Rescue. “Then the water runs back under the felt overhang and drips through into the kennels. On a wet day, fresh air means a compulsory paddle. Once your feet are wet, they stay wet – and life can be pretty miserable!”
The rescue urgently needs to replace the current Polycarbonate section of the roof on this kennel block with a better roof that will keep their rescued dogs dry. The estimated costs is of £1350, including all materials and labour. A has been set up to help with the costs.
“We are appealing to our fantastic supporters in the local communities in Merseyside to help us to reach our goal,” Debbie says. “Can you help our dogs stay dry? If so, please donate!”
