When you don’t take the time to get to know Igor, you feel like you’re in the presence of an angry cat who is constantly on guard. It’s his unique face that gives this impression, when in fact he is extremely gentle. At the shelter, we expected him to have trouble attracting potential adopters, but luck smiled on him.
Recently, the Haralson County Animal Shelter , located in Buchanan in the state of Georgia (United States), admitted 8 stray cats at once.
All these felines were adorable despite the trauma and difficulties they had to experience on the street, but one of them really stood out from the crowd in the eyes of the employees of the reception structure. This is Igor , a red cat with a unique face and look.
He gives the impression of being angry and grumpy all the time, a bit like a feline character in a comic book or cartoon.
Amanda Matthews , who works at the Haralson County Animal Shelter and cared for Igor , said she has ” never seen a cat like him.” He’s unique with his grumpy face .”
The veterinary examination carried out on the cat revealed that its state of health was quite good. Except for myopia most likely caused by the shape of his eyes. “ He can still see ,” Amanda Matthews told The Dodo , “but only up close .” This does not prevent him from constantly exploring the refuge, which also causes him some small misadventures.
She often remembers the day when Igor ” found himself stuck behind a door at one point and was crying just because he didn’t know how to get out .” »
“All he wants is to cuddle.”
Very sociable and affectionate, this cat loves and seeks the company of humans. “ All he wants ,” says his benefactress, “is to cuddle .” His temperament has absolutely nothing to do with his appearance.
In total, Igor will have stayed 2 weeks at the Haralson County shelter . He found a loving family almost by chance.
A woman, in fact, arrived with the intention of adopting Spooks , a young 3-month-old cat. The meeting with the latter was conclusive and its adoption acquired. During her visit, however, she noticed Igor and asked to see him; she was immediately seduced by the twink. She therefore decided to adopt them both.
At the shelter, everyone was happy to see Igor join his forever home, even though Amanda Matthews and the others had grown extremely attached to this cat with the unusual face.
